sick bro, I've always wanted to rip one of these bad boys. What is the weight of the arson? About the same as the simplex or light like a tnt? |

Like always there are setbacks, but I refuse to release something sub par. The new stuff is slowly working it's way along, not as fast as I'd like because of some setbacks with the expansion of the factory and getting new tooling done and getting things dialed in with the new CNC.
I'm going to be working on the digital side of the new graphics over the next few weeks so I'll have some teasers to come. 2011 is coming quickly and I'm working my balls off trying to get everything in order to start production.
Needless to say it's not easy being a one man show and doing EVERYTHING myself!
The new construction looks very simple on the outside, but it's most advanced wood core ever made. Needless to say I'm confident it'll be nothing short of amazing. For those of you that follow us on Twitter... I dropped a little hint of something else about the 2011 line

I say, good on Arson for not releasing something they weren't completely happy with.
Better to hold out on a deck, than release something sub-standard & have everyone bag it out. |

ZackFL(BRE) Does it hurt you that a company (who is run by only 1 person) is waiting to release a board when it is ready? Cause you seriously sound like you have some anger issues.
Also not only 2 boards were released to the public. If you'd looked back when they first started making boards, they ran a line of pre-orders which went out. I got one (and I live in Aus so it's usually hard as to get decks) and have to say it is the most amazing board I have ever ridden in my life.
Chris dude, keep up the sweet work and release those decks on your time man[/quote] _________________

after getting used to my board, going from the tank of a hyperlite vinyl to the ltd, i now love it..such good pop and a comfortable feel on the board.
plus its been really tough besides a few scratches in the glossy finish what do you expect sliding it though
great board for sure! _________________

-LoGiK-, Close! Marcus will have a signature model 39.5 and Drew will have a signature model 40.5
Zak and I will be working on a OTT collaboration board in due time. I also have something in the works for Nick.
ZackFL(BRE), I'm not really sure how you want me to respond to that It's probably better that I don't give you a direct answer.
There are a lot of people who have asked why we didn't have much of a 2010 line so I'll do my best to explain to everyone what the deal is. I don't really feel like I should have to completely explain myself but It will give everyone some insight to the business.
When I started Arson I was working for a company that built carbon fiber aerospace parts, I was making a very good living. My plan was to keep working for them while I saved money to build the Arson brand and do both until I was ready to move to part time there and give Arson the attention I knew it was going to need as it grew.
The team was testing product and we were just about done with the final designs and layups when I was informed by the owner of the company that he would be moving out of the country and the business would be moving back to Europe (Not what I wanted to hear!) Things were very close to going to limited production and I had a decision to make. I decided that I would move forward and start the pre-order of the first ltd decks.
At this time I had most of the factory ready to go. The only things I couldn't do in house was the cnc machining and the graphics printing. My friends factory who helped me with Omen has two cnc machines and was building all the cores for the prototype decks and I already had the graphics printing on lock. When I called my friend and told him that I'd be launching the product ahead of schedule he had some bad news... They had picked up two other brands that they were manufacturing for and that there would be little to no time for me to use their cnc machines to cut my cores. I had planned ahead and was working with another machines shop as well so I ended up sending all of the core material there to be machined. I had already used them before and they were more than capable of doing the difficult 3d machining.
When I picked up the cores for all of the ltd decks I went to work on building all of the decks but there was a problem... A wrinkle in the top sheet. I spent sleepless days and nights trying to figure out the problem. In the end the machine shop had screwed up and all of the cores had a tiny flaw in them that was causing the top sheets to wrinkle on one end. I tried working with the machine shop and they were completely irrational and blamed my cad files for the error, I knew this wasn't the case since I had already built 35+ prototype decks that never had this issue. So now I'm out A LOT of money in materials (enough to buy a used honda's worth) and no machine shop to build the cores. Thankfully I was able to scramble and find a machine shop that would machine the cores for me at a rate of almost double what I was paying before, but I bit the bullet and did what had to be done.
At this point I was already way behind on the 2010 product. I had originally planned to use the current machine shop and move forward with the 2010 line because there was such a high demand for boards. Although I was extremely frustrated because I'm a total control freak when it comes to product. I built my name in this industry building the highest quality wood core decks possible by having certain values about what a high end board should be. I look at every single deck and ask myself if I would be stoked to have spent my hard earned money on each and every one of these boards. I believe in having the team do extensive testing and abuse to make sure they won't leave you stranded on vacation cause your board broke. Those are the same principles I started with in the beginning and those will never change.
So moving into 2010 I had a very hard decision to make, keep using the current shop to machine our cores and keep doing limited production runs with the hope of purchasing a cnc in a year or two or consider a way to get my own cnc and do all of the machining in house. After talking with a lot of cnc manufactures and really mowing it over I decided the best decision for the brand was that we do a very limited run of the 2010 USURP decks and work on expanding the factory bigger and purchasing a cnc machine. I've sold my SeaDoo along with pretty much all my expensive toys as well as cleaning out my bank accounts to afford this machine. But now I have the ability to do pretty much anything I want now and I plan on doing just that!
So we have the cnc here, it's setup and getting dialed in as we speak and things are moving forward with all the new product.
I do this because I love it and because I believe in it... Things may not get done as quick as I'd like but they'll always be the best I can built.

Anchors Away, Not to sound like an ass, but that board was never really meant to be seen or ridden by anyone that wasn't on the team. It's actually a really poor example that was thrown together by hand as a total experiment. I didn't really want to sell that board to David but he really wanted it and being such a close friend of Nick's I agreed to sell it to him. It's a neat board but a poor example of what I actually produce. It bums me out that he sold it.
To everyone that's supported Arson I really want to say a special thank you! Without you guys there wouldn't even be an Arson! _________________ arson-wake.com |

ZackFL(BRE), You are totally right... My company sucks The rest of your post makes little to no sense. The concave on the Purist is complete shizzle and I'll be the first to say it! The concave was cut with a router freehanded. Those were built to see if the construction would hold up. As far as I know neither of the two built have broken, de-lamed or taken on any water so imo it worked.
miller, JonnyBravo, and mufinman98, have absolutely no affiliation with the company other than the fact they're customers who purchased boards... The only affiliation Lollar has is that he's a close friend of Nick Dauzat's. _________________ arson-wake.com |
