How did everybody find out about wakeskating? I was watching a wakeboarding video my friend had and they had a few wakeskaters on there, no idea what the video was.. I do remember that they built an up rail to a pool on top of a u-haul truck to another down rail.. it was sick.

So post up on here how you were introduced to/found out about wakeskating!

first thing was an ad for the old hyperlite platinum series skates, just a picture of the graphics.. no clue what it was.. then met grubb/watched his stuff when he did a demo out here back in the day. after seeing him do some flats shuvs, then a big ts shuv indy and something off the kicker i wanted a wakeskate right then.

graduated 8th grade and my mom got me a signed board he used to ride and can be seen in snap. was also sent a scape 112 and been skating ever since.

Jeff Knox and Kyle McCutcheon stayed at my house for a week for a camp at odub when I was 9. Kyle brought a wakeskate, and I didn't like it, haha. I liked the feeling of not being attached, but I think that board was too big. I took a trick ski and pulled off the bindings, that thing was perfect.

wakeboarded for a while with a friend of my parents who was a national champ once or twice back before they even made tower boats and he had a few skates but i never got to try it. eventually, since i live in the same town that nick taylor, stuart shinn, andrew fortenberry i saw them skating all the time and then my friend bought a byerly legacy so we could try and been ridin' ever since.

First saw Drew McGuckin in "Monkey on a String" and then Thomas Horrell in "Wide Awake" and I was hooked.

I had my sister pick me up one of these in Phoenix -

I met James Balzer through a friend and he stayed with me for a week when he was in Australia a few years back. I've skateboarded all my life, not from a wakeboarding, waterskiing or snowboard background, so when i saw him stomp a back big on water i was like "get out of town boy" that was it.........and hav never looked back Cool

Electricsnow,
I have too many pics and videos, you have no idea.

wakeskate77,
Sorry hoss, I took that one. You are driving though. We ended up not heading up that way, I've got an interview today. I want my second "wakeskate" back. Come down!

here's another great old photo. Electricsnow, thats the 4trac, and the 3d screwed to the dock is the best story.
