Hey guys got a question for the masses here...

we have a new set up built into each of our boards... 88oz. of fiberglass and reinforcements in a key spot to help buff out and hold "lip sticks" or some other lock in device. we want this area to handle any type of abuse that can happen from tearing screws out... so far I've never seen or heard of a problem with our boards... but this year we want to be extra certain there wouldn't ever be a problem. I have taken some of our team riders input and built this new zone where we think the best place to mount these at... and allowed for 2.5" of placement forward or back and 1" in or out from the center.

the key spot seems to be 11" from the tail and 9" apart...

...so my question is... should we ship each board with a small 1/8" pilot hole marking the reinforced area where you can decide to drill or not?

the hole does not go all the way through the board so it won't affect you at all unless you decide to drill it out.

if it doesn't affect the rider why does it matter if they are drilled?

i ordered a 39

i voted yes, if they make no effect and are not drilled all the way through the rider can still put their own lock in holes where ever they like so i dont see it being an issue....actually on the contrary, if someone doesnt have the best skills behind the drill or a ruler for that matter.... the pilot holes will be very helpful.

im glad you took it into account, great thinking.

top sheets tend to drift and shrink when you press with heat... so it wouldn't be an exact science... it would be close, but i like things to be precise.

There is a slight depression pressed into that area now to mark it... but i don't want a rack full of stocked boards and everyone asking for something i don't have in stock cause it's drilled out... We are trying to ship next day to 7 days after the order so you don't have to wait this year... basically, i'm trying to find out what the majority vote is. Cause custom stuff... and certain requests... can take weeks to build... and we are trying to stay away from making you wait.

The old school TNT's and Lemons with the predrilled holes for fins added confidence if you need to. We never did, but we had thought about it, and we knew exactly where to put the drill. The board is still rocking solid. I would vote yes, just for the sole fact that if you need to/ want to, it is an easy job. and if not, it wont mess up your game.

It is a wise business choice in my mind Because now days most skaters want to atleast nose press(even if they cant correctly do it) Just to be a part of the "pro" level game.

Drill them...

NO!

why do you want to drill all skates?

can't you make an option in your eshop, skates with or without pilot holes? it was the same story with the normal fins, skate with or without normal fin holes.

fin holes also as pilot holes?

for distributors or shops the same way, the distributor or the shop has to decide with or without holes for fins and locks, because he must sell it,

customization and not "it's sink or swim" (right phrase in english Crazy Eyes )

we germans also, but i think we have a different definition of precise, the last integs that i saw in germany had the fin holes not in the middle of skate Very Happy

but nobody was worry because the skates was ordered without fin holes

Schmaltz, i had a problem with my board. twice. the screws ripped out and put a big dent and gash in the board that ripped through the bottem layer. i tried to fix it and re seal it with epoxy and after i locked in again, same thing happened even after letting it sit for over a month without doing any locking in.
