Anyone have any? My gf and i were at petsmart just looking around and decided to get 2, Got a female and male, only spent 11 bux on everything, got some glass stones some food and of course the fishies! Put the blue/black female in a big Grey Goose bottle with some blue/clear stones at the bottom, and the redish white male in a beef eaters gin bottle with some red stones on the bottom. Ill take some pics later. They seem to like them. Im planning on getting a bigger tank and making a sorority of female betta fish haha. They are so cool and fun to watch. Anyone else have any? |

-=AlexXx=-, Why would you want a bunch of females, they are usually pretty ugly. Put a mirror up to the male's bottle and he will frill up, or put both bottles side by side |

kornhouse, i like the females, they arent ugly? The one i got is a vibrant blue and is much more playful then my male so far. Shes swims around and looks like she has alot more personality. I know thats not the case for all, but i still kinda like the females better cuz they are less popular and not as many people have/like them as much. |

I've had a few. One lasted over 3 years. The last year I barely fed the thing and he kept kicking. Only died when I moved back home and my mom actually started feeding him regularly. I don't think he knew what to do with all the food so it just sank to the bottom and ruined the water. |

I had an all white one that just died about 2 weeks ago. Lived about a year. I didn't notice for a day or two that it died because he always looked dead. Don't overfeed. People love to do this 'cause it's really the only interaction you get to have with a fish.
Try to only change 50% or less of the water at a time also.. rapid/drastic changes in water temp (like when cleaning and pouring in new water) can kill it or degrade it's immunity level too so try to let the "new" water get to room temp like your betta bowl is before doing the water change, especially important if you change more than 50% of the water. _________________ chance favors the prepared mind |

PassedOutAwake, they are the little glass stones that u can get at the pet store, they fit, some were a bit to big, but the majority i crammed in.
taku, thats what ive been doing well, only once, but ya thats what the lady told me at the store, looks like the male one i have got some "fin rot" so i gotta keep the water extra clean for him till that goes away or get medication for him :/ |

A Male and female can live in the same bowl but its still risky. Two males will definitely fight though. |

4+ females can live in the same aquairum as long as there are enough hiding spots , plants and stuff and of course enough gallons to house them properly. Im considering making a Beta sorority. |
