I went looking for the flanges today at home depot and I couldn't find them.
Could someone give me a specific name for them or tell me which department they're in.
thanks. |

they are in the plumbing department. I went yesterday to get all the supplies, but they were completely out of the 10' poles that I needed for supports.
They will be next to the poles and are color coded for different sizes, ask some one where to find the floor flanges.
I will have my rail built sometime soon and will post pics. |

yeah I found them and built a rail this weekend. I had so many problems with the rail. First we tried to pound just the poles into the ground without the flanges. What kept happening was the threads actually got smooshed together like an accordion, Then we tried to screw the flanges onto the poles and hit the flange with the hammer but then 2 of the poles broke at the threads leaving threads in the flange. Then we said fu<k it and pounded the top or the rail with the hammer. It wasn't very stable but it got the job done. |

you have to hit in the poles first with a piece on wood over the top to keep from destroying the threads, or get yourself a sacrofical flange screw a small square of wood to it and beat away on that, not the pipe. |

Just buy a coupling to fit whatever size gas pipe you are using, screw the coupling on and pound away _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

Fryguy, we were in literally the middle of nowhere in a cove at a lake. I just couldn't go to my scrap wood pile and pick out some. But yeah I think that would ve worked better than pounding the pole itself. |
