Over the last couple months i have been getting into photography...
i have a 40d with battery grip and a 18-200mm and a 17-55mm(kit lens)
I have been shooting a lot of wakeskating and taking pictures from the seadoo and all...
i am looking into a waterproof housing and i was wondering what do you guys think of the Ewa-Marine's _________________ 985 |

i like mine. Ask oury, first try out with it I dunked my d300 without doing a 'pretest' and I thought i was going to die. Camera went completely under the water it was fine. Their sealing seems better than other but you still have to check to see if you have gotten any sand or dirt in between the pvc. _________________ http://trihawk.fotki.com

They work pretty good. I've only taken on water one time and killed a 20D. a friend of mine also soaked a 5k dollar camera in one
But seriously, they work okay, you just have to make damn sure they are screwed down tight, and keep re-checking them. There is also a chance the plastic could tear on something.
Even after wrecking a 20D in the ocean, I still use mine. (btw, the 20D was repaired for free with one of those warranties that cover everything )
If you have the cash get a real one so you wont have to worry about it. You can always sell it later if you decide you don't want it anymore. Check fredmiranda.com maybe you can find a used one on the buy and sell area. _________________ integrity-wake.com | chriscut.com

I know a few guys that use EWA's and love them, a few of them use them for reef photography when diving as well.
I've used one plenty of times and never had an issue... Just make sure you have a good seal every time you put your camera in and your good to go.
The bigger hard housings are really heavy too. _________________ arson-wake.com |

I purchased a DiCapapac From an online Camera retailer for 120.00 and so far has not given me any trouble. I just researched the EWA and they seem to built similar and from similar materials. |

I've had one leak on me and almost destroy my camera. I can't believe my 10D is still kicking after being dunked in salt water years ago. _________________
