i think you should be in touch with your target audience, aka wakeskaters. either way, im sure there are those who will like it and those who won't just like every other skate.

If you're talking about derek, he is a wakeskater and is down to let anyone out there ride the intox (so in that regard, he's open for comments, suggestions). I'm talking about him caring less about having to legitimize the design by explaining why it's thick (since that was what people originally said), or why it "looks like a byerly" etc.

If you're talking about o'brien and a wakeskate team, Ideally I think they should be supporting a team as well. but the economy isn't all that great right now either.

And drew danielo was one supporter of that board, if that means anything at all...

We were out yesterday skating and I rode my INTOX for the first time. It has a feel like no other board that I have. (I have 10 boards) 3 Integs, 5 Gators, Intox and a cassette. The Intox rides nothing like the others. It has its own feel and is actually easier for me being I am a rookie at this. If you want another board to throw around, get an Intox, you wont be dissapointed.
It will always be in my boat from now on. Pretty cool board and one of my riding buds already wants it,,,to bad,,,I am keeping it.

Toxis, shuv's are difficult for me to. When I tried it on the Intox I almost nailed it first try - lost the handle. I was pretty amazed how it spun so quickly and smooth. I like to wake jump mostly and the Intox does have good pop, but I do need to start practicing the surface stuff, shuv's, ollies, etc...

We will get there one day. Its just a good time for the wife and I. My wife started to get some air Saturday, She was riding the 05 Integ. It was cool for sure. Very Happy

Dude, your wife skates? That's sick! I'd be lying if I didn't say I was jealous. lol What do you ride behind? I'm 99% cable but I do have access to my buddy's Supra this summer which I'm pretty stoked for now.

I dont get how everyone is going to come on here and try to bash this skate when very few people have ridden this board or know all the work Derek put into this board. everything about this board has a reason for the way it looks or the way it rides. And no other board rides like this board. w2w your feet are locked in and it has a ton of pop, is durable for rails, and spins nicely. Everyone is being closed minded about this board cause it says O'brien on it but it is a solid skate.

Toxis, yeah my wife skates. She likes it alot and I always have a driver,,lol. I have an 88 Supra Mariah open bow. Tower, perfect pass and a nice wake for skating. Got a good deal on it almost 2 years ago now, 1 owner boat, low hours. I bought a new 88 Supra comp in 1988 and used it until I blew out my knee in 93 and then sold it. So its like I got my boat back and I sure am happy with it.

I have rode cable and went off the great big jump at OWC with a huge crash landing,,lmao. Cable is fun, but I do like a wake for sure. If you get a chance to ride behind that Supra, do it, you will love the wake.

Back to the Intox, even though its thick, it seems to ride high on the water. You would think it might grab an edge, but it doesn't. They got my vote. Ride what you like, who cares what some say about it, the world is full of choices.

I saw one in a shop the other day, they vinyl was right next to it, I honestly thought it was a new vinyl that I hadn't seen the graphic on. It looks sick, nothing like the mod in my opinion and more like a subtle byerly.

Hey guys,
Glad some of you are interested in the board. I understand why others would think what they do. Either way, I want to help people try out the skates so they can make educated assessments. The info is coming soon...

I love wakeskating

eviltweak, don't get discouraged, I had to just go out for a couple of sets and just keep trying and trying until I stomped one. Once you start landing them they become second nature.

eviltweak, you'll be psyched when you get that first shuv. I've said this before on here, but I learned body varials before shuvs. When I landed that first shuv, that felt like my first "real" trick on a wakeskate. It's a gratifying maneuver. Cool

Before I even read this thread, I was looking around trying to find were the Intox was available. (I wish I could buy it from a legit board shop) Pretty appealling design for me who prefers composite, but doesnt have $300-$400 for a wakeskate. 230 for a good concave composite that wont go delam or snap after a couple weeks... I am expecting good things from this skate.
Sick graphics/ colors too.

It seems to me like if O'brien is offering wakeskaters a decent, well thought out skate for only $230, maybe they do care about us just a little....... or maybe just me Very Happy
