If you were to buy Lakefront property around Orlando (within 45 - 60 mins from down town), what lake would you buy on and why?

Also....what lakes should one avoid buying property on, i.e., what lakes really suck for wakeskating....

cheers.

do u want to live next to a major highway that will run you right in to town? you could live 20min away and find good lakes.

2 min from sebastian inlet is where ive spent many a days at spanish house. From there its 86miles to narcoossee. Which is still 15 miles from dt otown. Melbourne is probably an hr away, but if your planning to spend a lot of time dt that is just to far of a drive

I definitely second the clermont/minneola area with the rolling grassy meadows and the nice lakes around it adds for a beautiful scenario.

Maybe.... It's a buyer's market, and there are plenty of foreclosures.

http://www.zillow.com is the greatest thing for searching property. Think Google Maps plus public tax records. You can see houses for Sale and when you Zoom in, you can see how much each Neighbour bought so you know if you are over-paying for the area and have a better idea of what the comps will be like.

In general, there are plenty of places in Florida where you can get a 3 bedroom house on a lake for under $350,000
