If you read the last topic on "splits" you know they are killers, but has anyone an idea how to stop them?
I was thinking of tying a piece of rope between my ankles of maybe 80cm or something like that,

Pro's and contra's please, I don't wanna go through it again but I want to go skating next season, help me out!!!

tying rope between your ankles could limit your mobility is spinning shuvs, among other things.

I think a string could cause you to get hurt some how, and I wouldn't recommend it.

To me, splits are part of the sport. Just like getting cut by the griptape, or smacking your head on the board.

seriously its not a matter of wat material object u can use or make use with to help u not do splits, its a matter of flexibility. i raced motocross for a very long time and fu cked my knees up bad, so i am very worried of doing a split and once again hurting my knees. i have learned to basically roll forward if i ever feel like im gna do a split. if u roll forward it reduces the pressure on ur hamstring and if everytime u fall somewhere twords the back of the board u train ur self to somewhat roll off than when a split does occur, muscle memory will occur and w/o thinking about u roll out of a split and back up to rideing as soon as ur pull comes around. also i dont think yoga or some stretching would hurt.
