For those of us who are not lucky enough to live in Florida and ride all year long the winter season is approaching. Faster than anyone could imagine our summer has come and gone. This means breaking out those wet suits and getting ready to shred the last few sets before the old man comes out of his cave and spreads a chill across the lakes. Even here in FL I have noticed temps dropping within the last few weeks. Where is this going you ask? Well I remember last year around this time when we started to see a even more unfriendly side of wakeskating.com. Not that its very friendly now but I remember it being much worse and everyone being a little on edge. What I am saying is that we all know its coming and there is nothing we can do about it. Lets be positive this winter on the forum and try not to get at each others throats as much. I feel for each and every one of you that has to deal with not riding all winter. I can only imagine how much it sucks to come onto the forum and hear about everyone that lives down here landing new tricks and still being stoked on wakeskating. Its an unfortunate situation but that is no reason to kill the stoke with negativity. So im asking each of you if we can just try to get along this winter and keep the stoke alive. I know that im not always a positive guy but im trying to get better at that and I think that we could all use a little wake up sometimes to remember why we are here, what we have in common, and why this sport is so damn awesome.
Thanks.
If im stupid for posting this please feel free to yell at me

You could always move west for the winter. It would suck if the water was too cold and you didn't have any mountains to shred. _________________ Aaron |

wakeboarderx03x, The water never gets to cold to shred here luckily. Not everyone is baller enough to change regions when it gets nippley outside unfortunately. _________________ http://www.wakeskateclips.com/ |

I enjoy all the seasons here in NJ. Snowboarding gets me through the winter, and ice hockey with all my friends on the pond when it freezes
And now I have a winch I can wakeskate all year too. Last Feb we were winching in a quarry with a rail to hit and a fire burning. It's so great because even when it's freezing out, it's ok because you're not constantly in the water; fall, get out and warm up, go again _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

I just wrote the longest input and the window just automatically closed down! So pissed!
Brett Leadley, Winching definitely opens up a lot of possibilites for us cold water wakeskaters. How are your winters in general? How cold does it get?
I went riding today for the first time in a month, cause I have been ill and then some other stuff that got in the way. The air and water temp were both around 50. I rode for about 50 minutes and I'd say I spent about 10 % of the time riding and the other 90 % swimming It never got cold though. I had a really bad summer so I didn't really ride that much and therefore I feel like I have so much motivation to try to ride all through this winter. If I wouldn't I'd just go crazy about not getting to ride. As long as the lake doesen't freeze I'll be there wakeskating. And when it does (because it will) I'll go winch the ocean instead. The local ski hill opens around the end of december. They have different rails, boxes and whatnot and it's located about 10 min from where I'm at. Definitely looking forward to the snowboarding season! Once they have opened there's usually snow there until march or april. Skating indoor parking lots is a classic in the winter. And as long as there's no snow and it doesen't rain there's always the skate parks. And if there's snow I might pull out the ol' snowskate for a little bit. I think I'll survive this winter aswell My biggest hope is that the focus will be on wakeskating though! _________________ Jag heter Fredrik |

I am starting a petition to get the equator moved northward. Does anyone want to sign? It will be passed to Jesus after 200 signitures. Thanks for your support. |
