CAD software

i just downloaded a trail version of Desighn Workshop and i was having a little bit of truuble using it.

i was wondering if anyone eles knew of a better program i could get for free cause most of them cost like 100.00 and up.

also if neone could show me how to use it to make rails id thank you a lot.

I build rails on the side for extra money, I have never had to use cad, I think your using a bazooka to kill a fly man, all you need is a pencil, a good eraser, and graph paper to plan a rail

Im not the person to tell you about that, but really and truely, Isay sketch one up make a parts list and build it, you'll be havin so mutch fun w/ your rail cad will fade from memory at least IMO

but i seen someone on wakeboarding.com who made one in there and it looked nice.

oh ok my bad, that guy has too much free time though, but CAD is dead, the stuff they use now are programs like PRO-E, command based realtime 3D modeling, but then again I think PRO-E is like 50,000.00 a seat Crazy Eyes

yea my buddy is at an engineer school and he uses pro-e every day. Its really awesome....Auto cad does suck, really bad you can't do curvy type structures very easy. Anyways you might want to try Maya 3D. There are some RV companies around here that use Maya 3D to design thier RVs. You can download the free version off of Maya's website.
