yeah I don't think you can. I check craigslist all the time and anybody that is selling a d40 right now bought it a while ago and still think they can get decent prices for it, which turns out to be more than what you could score a new one for.
I would say just save up your money. I bought a bad ass point and shoot a few years back and spent way too much. Turned out i liked photography and found a D70 later for about $100 more than what i paid for that point and shoot. _________________ http://trihawk.fotki.com

I haven't used it but it looks as if this is just a point and shoot that looks like a DSLR. The thing about the point and shoot is that it takes a brief period to 'take' the picture after you hit the button It really makes it annoying when you are taking action photos. _________________ http://trihawk.fotki.com

It is not a film camera, it is a DSLR, but the Sony alpha 200 is a sweet camera. I have had it for about a month now and it actually shoots about a frame or half a frame faster per second than the D40. It also has the steady shot built into the camera rather than the lens so it makes them much cheaper. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/album.php?aid=2035297&id=214702639. These are some pics I have taken so far. If you can't see them send me a friend request. _________________ Fly Film Productions |

I have a Canon Elan IIE and i love it.... plus it was cheap because it was used. I would also suggest getting a Canon Elan7 or a 7e. They are similar to the Elan II's but a little newer i believe. They are all film cameras btw. |
