Build Pics
Our winch, based on the simple cockney winch from winchskating.com
only thing we need now is a splash guard and some wheels. we have the splash guard just need to shape it.
Only problem is, we fired it up tonight, but as there was no splash guard and the line was not tight. It basically came lose and ragged the spark plug cap off. DOH!!! oh well hopefully it won't be to bad to repair. Anyone had any experiance replacing the spark plug cap?
edit: Oh and hopefully we'll try in on the water soon!!! Let you all know how that goes. |

Sweet, I'm looking into doing something real similar. What size metal did you use? Does it seem pretty solid?
I was thinking about shaving some weight off the frame, maybe youse some angle aluminum or something. |

I'm 5'11" and 140lbs, pulled me out on the skate no worries.
My friend who is taller 6'1" and probably weighs a little more, something like 160, he tried it on his strapper last night and it pulled him out with no issues. So he should not have too many problems with his skate.
The inner diameter is 7", i think we are using the middle holes on the bulletlines spool so i think thats 7", don't quote me on that one. |

160 pounds?? Fook me and the rest haha!
First winch went really really well, no problems at all with anything. I thought we would come back with at least a few things to bolt back together or replace!
Thanks to the guy you designed the cockney winch and took the time to post the drawings on the net for us all to duplicate
Right, far too much time writing this post... wheres google maps gone too?? |
