DROOOOOOOLS

I want pics sooo bad!!

I been waiting to see something along those lines for some time now... I mean all we see are wakeskates that ressemble a LOT wakeboards. Which in a way makes sense. But there just hasn't been any revolutionary concept like in other board sports.

shape of snowboards: kinda settled to the regular twin tp, slightly A sim shape in the mid 90s. Same for sk8board: almost the exact same shape for the past 15 years, but before that it just kept changing every year.

I expect the same to happe with wakeskates. And this may be the one concept to decide on the *standard* type/shape of wakeskate. or maybe not, but it looks very promising, and cassette guys know their thing. They are riders after all. I wonder what kind of tricks the guys that design hype skates behind their computer can pull lol

the concept sounds similar to the bi-level snow skates. be interested to see some footy of this generated energy and pop.

... I don't see how that would work...? Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling them liars or anything, I just don't get it. Intuitively, it doesnt seem like pushing off the bottom board would be any real difference. I mean, it would make a great snap sound which would give you the impression that you are having more pop. I dunno. Regardless, I look forward to seeing these things.

I imagine it works like many other things in this world. If you take tweezers and push the tips together and then release they spring out. Makes sense to me anyway. When your foot goes down all the way the spring like pressure releases pushing the tail down even further rather quickly causing more pop.

i wonder if they are going to be making them like two decks with a gap in between, then be held together in a way that one would give to the other. i dont see another way because of the medium, unless they make a core that compresses somehow. could be completely bogus, possibly not work, and probably break easy. but if its not its going to be... [insert various positive adjectives here].

two decks put together sounds pretty damn heavy, i imagine they got that sorted out though there probly thinner or something who knows.

That shizz sounds awesome, sounds like they are basically doing the same thing the gate tried to do, increase you leverage on the tail for better pop, but without the steps, ( gay steps cause you to eat mad ass on stacks) I may have to go back to cassette, that is if they don't delam, but seriously awesome design, Kudos to Thomas.

whatever i just want to see a price and a demo date. im pretty sceptical if this will be a big new thing just like the hyperlite claws were supposed to be so great. i hope this wont take all the challenge out of wakeskating so some kid can just get up his/her first time ollie and land 3s that would suck.

i too am a bit skeptical about this. i don't fully understand how you get pop of the bottom deck. do the mounts work similar to a bi level snowskate? is the bottom deck really flexy or something?

I need to know more about these decks. I can't wait for more information its killing me. The idea itself seems to make sense in my head but I can't wait for a more detailed description and explanation. Pictures are going to be cool as well, it should be interesting. With only an eighth of an inch betweent he two boards I wonder what kind of effect the compression will have on the release of the boards. Again, can't wait for more pictures/information.

I highly doubt that Thomas would put out something that sucked. And it sounds a bit selfish to say that you hope it doesn't make it easier for people. When twin tip wakeboards came out I don't recall people being mad that it was going to make wakeboarding easier. Everything gets easier with technology. twin tip concave skateboards made everything way easier than the old flats.
