Anyone remember that aluminum rail at the KnoxWake RailJam at Bent Fork Bike Fest last summer in Knoxville, TN? Do you think a similar rail using galvanized/stainless steel would slide fine? I already have one built, I just haven't had time to throw it up yet for the trial.

Aluminum slides fine...I've slid many aluminum canoes.

Only thing about aluminum or any kind of metal rail is that it will destroy your board a lot faster then a rail made of wood or pvc. I had to completely refinish and repair my homemade wood skate after seshing a canoe once. My strapper friend's wakeboard also got mangled pretty good on it.

Aluminum treats my board just fine. It just scratches it a little.
