so i hav one barrel and i want to build a rail with it
i'm thinking about a rail that has a pole goin into the ground on one side and the pole is connected to the rail with a hinge
and then on the other side of the rail would be the floating barrel
so no matter what the height of the water was at i could always hit the rail b/c the one side with the barrle would always be a constent height and then depending on the water level i could hav a ride on, incline, flat bar, or whatever.
what do u guys think
any suggestions?

The problem would be the adapter between them... it seems like there would be a gap whenever it changes elevation.

I was thinking it was 2 sections... one on a post and one on a barrel.. because of your "ride on" comment. It seems like it would work fine if you made a simple hinge between the post and the rail.. so it can adjust to diff. angles. But one barrel is gunna be fairly tipsy on the water, like itll sink when u hit it
