I'm looking to spend AT MOST $8000. If I got a ski it's be an 08 Yamaha VX Deluxe, but if I got a boat it' be like a whaler or something. Something under 20ft and probably a flats boat. I already have a friend with a boat but he doesn't go out as much. Help me decide. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nizzate/ |

if i were you i would buy a used ski and with the rest buy a winch then you have two different options of riding. Also nothing beats filling up the winch a day or more of riding on 3$ i mean come on! |

boat = chill time
ski= ride time
don't get me wrong u can ride on the boat, but u can't exactly chill on the ski.
i love the chill time........but the riding has to be done. i'm a boat man myself. maybe if you got a small whaler and used the extra flow to put a tower on her. lemonscraft ftw! _________________ dbanana wrote:

Lousy Hero, New Ski!!!!!
I love riding ski so much, they seem so much more convient than a boat.
I bet if i only had a ski I would wish I had a boat. |

Raven, i agree the lemonscraft is like the best of both worlds. you have the quick pickups like the ski and can chill aswell. |

personaly i like boat better, more comfort for driver, spotter, extra room for bitties, and you dont have to return to shore to get other riders who wouldnt have been able fit on a ski _________________ I run show where ever I go. |

if you really want to ride and really want to spend time learning tricks get a ski. i have an x-2 and a winch and i wish i woulda gotton a ski rather than the winch. the winch is great, but being able to fall and be ready to get up again with a quickness is so great. plus the start up roller rules. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. Ski.
Ski = progression on the cheap.
Boats take too long to stop and pick you back up. Boats can't get in shallow water(ie. rails). Boat is heavier which = vehicle uses more gas. Boats take lots more $$ to fill up.
I would love to have a boat but my 06 wake = love. |

Parker, hmmm. one day last summer, cheapskate and myself were riding vestless as always. a couple kids on a ski were carving around on a surfboard. the two on the ski had their vests on, but the one riding the surfboard did not. game warden rolled right past us and stopped the kids on the ski and gave the one on the board a ticket. man was he pissed. the dude tried to straight up hate by saying "look, they aren't wearing vests." what a chump.
basically the game warden told him that the law in texas is that you always have to wear a vest while on a pwc. therefore if you are attached to that pwc by way of ski handle you must have a vest on. completely opposite with boats. which definately played to our favor that day. _________________ north jones |

i think a boat, u can have fun ride as much as u can on a ski and u will appreciate the room. i bought a 80's ski nautique 2001 and its got a perfect slopey wake and plenty of room for a closed bow boat. i paid about 5500 and didnt put 1 dollar into till this year. |

That's what I'm looking for now actually, either an older Ski Nautque or some flats boat. My friend is "supposed" to be buying a bigger motor for his little whaler but I doubt it's going to happen. I think if I can't get a ski boat or something like that then I'll get a ski because I have friends with boats. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nizzate/ |

Think of the price of gas going up? if you are getting a flats boat make sure you get a newer outboard, cuz there pretty good on gas. Merc Optimax or something. |
