Taking Back sunday is a great band with deep multi meaningful lyrics. They have hd ups and downs and are still ticking...

I agree provin1327, this warp tour sucked there were about four good bands there.
Pepper was sick, Bad Religion kick ass (one of the best mosh ever), Big D & the Kids Table was not horrible, and Authority Zero. But who f*cken invited New Found Glory. I had to listen to the when waiting for pepper signigature. HORRIBLE. For a band from FL you think they would play almost good in their home town.
30 seconds to Mars was always emo, the lead singer is a famous actor (was in Fight Club & Lord of Wars) who thinks he can sing, saw them with Pearl Jam one of the worst live band beside My Chemical Romance (I saw them with Green Day, which was a good band live)

I stopped going to warped tour, I used to love going when it was like NoFx, MxPx, Bad Religion, Say Anything, (I never saw Pepper at one, but they are my new found love, and they have my name), ZAO, Anti-Flag, and I think I saw Offspring at the first one I went to.
I much prefer the local blues and jazz festival called briggsfest, its pretty much a bonaroo on a small scale.  (and 60bucks gets weeks camping and unlimited stage area time) |

I agree those were the badass Warp tours but now any sh*tty bands is allowed in, its just crimminal im telling ya; but i guess its true that punk is dead, Dead Kennedy, Ramones, Clash, Sex Pistols, their all gone at least Anti Flag is trying to revieve it

God dam they got the line up for warped 08, so far only 2 good bands, pennywise and the vandals, no casualties, no bad religion, no anti-flag (they are going crappy) no nofx, pure crap, just they murdered miracles, 30 seconds to mars, wtf, check out a vid on youtube of warped tour 97 i think was the first year, pure punk

I think everyone's picking on emos gives them a reason to stay emo.... if people didn't really notice them acting like that then that'd be a big reason for them to stop "hating the world."

Anti Flag is reviving it? hahahaha
they are so damn poppy. there are so many bands out there that you have no idea. go support your local scene and go to shows(not concerts) and you will find what you are looking for.
And punk is not dead, at all. There are a lot of bands that are killing it, but you are looking for them in the wrong places. Im so glad the Bay Area has a great punk scene.
And don't hate on New Found Glory they are more punk then most bands on warped. They lyrics and singing might be poppy but listen to the music, you can definitely hear hardcore influence like gorilla buiscuits in there.
Check out Leftover Crack, Monster Squad, and Municipal Waste (a little more thrash but whateves) and tell me punk is dead. |
