i am trying to find a used boat to put a tower on and make into a fun wakeskating rig.
i also want to be able to do some flats fishing so i don't want it to draw a whole lot of water.
i know these two characteristics kind of counteract eachother, but from seeing the lemonscraft, i know it's doable. i'm looking for something in the 16-21 ft. range, similar to either a carolina skiff, skeeter, or whaler that i can put a tower on and take off when i want to go fishing. any suggestions? what type of hull do you ride behind? how do you like it's wake?
i'ld really appreciate any insight on this before i spend the G's to rig up a new boat. i'm doing a lot of research into this, but figured there's more knowledge on this forum than boat brochures. thanks! _________________ skim it, skate it, slash it, bash it...ride hard. |

Lemonscraft steeze is the way to go. bromfutter has an old aluminium bass boat hull with a honda 40 and a tower. The wake is really fun, you can wake to wake, in out, etc. So much fun and we can still have three people in the boat and one riding. _________________ -Paul |

| i think my hull is an old aluminum bass tracker. its modified v hull so it cuts through the water nicely but for fishing its stable. tiller handel outboad is the way to go and if you want to spend a little more money go for the 4 strokes, saves so much gas. |

yeah, i def want a four-stroke, and i want it with a console. i like the lemonscraft, but i want something a bit more stable. i guess im being picky, but if i'm gonna drop the loot, i wanna get the right set-up. _________________ skim it, skate it, slash it, bash it...ride hard. |

| dont get a console. that would be the worng set up. its so much easier to tow people with a tiller set up. the consoles have too much play in the gas so its harder to keep the same speed. i rode behind the lemonscraft for a year and our boats are more stable than all skis and v hull bass boats. |

Stability isn't an issue, even with the pole in the center of the boat as he had it before I could I cut as hard as I wanted and the boat wouldn't tilt at all. I'm 6'2" and 240lbs. And the hand tiller allows you to turn super sharp/quick which is nice. No need for a wheel/throttle at all. I was skeptical before I got some pulls behind it but I'm totally convinced thats the way to go. _________________ -Paul |

board2much,
I'd be worried about putting a Tower on wood. That'd be an issue for me. _________________ wake____ing=love/life |

yeah, that's why i'm thinking of getting another setup. this is the type of hull i'm looking for and at a pretty good deal so it sounds.

i've got a G3 1860 w/ a 90hp yamaha. she's aluminum, center console. swivel ease bass boat pylon w/ a homemade height extension. perfect for wakeskating, fishing, and duck hunting. _________________ north jones |
