my boards on its way which is rad like turnip juice.
I just found out my mate has his own boat which i never knew about, sayen its only a little run about but i didnt ask what horse power hes got...

Is there a rule of thumb to the minimum horsepower you'd want for a basic tow?
obviously im not a big guy so weight isn't an issue but for the boat to handle towing is there a round abouts power neccessary for towing?

its all depends on the size of the boat. The smallest size engine i have heard of get someone up at a comfortable speed is a 20 h.p. on a 10 foor dingy.... but there might some smaller that i have never heard of....

a good standard is 40 and above

Parky used to ride behind a 15 hp zod I think but If I was to buy a boat I probably wouldn't go under 40hp.

yeh gotya, coz we use to get towed on my mates tinny and 15hp, no good for the engine but it was enough to get you up. expecting this other boat to have 20-25hp just coz his dad lives for boats and wouldnt let him get a nugget

i've gotten up on a 5hp behind a tinner but it's hard and some people have a struggle and can't do it. It's all in the way you get up i guess

ya it was a deep water start, but it took the tinner 20+ seconds to pull me up. I wouldn't recommended it, it's all we had one day. You could only have 2 people in the boat, driver and wakeskater

price.dan, unless u like fed the engine some sort of rocket fuel, i dont think there is ANNNNNYYY way u could do a deep water start on a 5hp, we struggle doing deep waters on a 30 sometimes (but thats cause we usually 2 people in the boat and 1 skating)

i donno man, my buddy has a tinner with 5 hp on it and each year we take it up the river to a near by town skating all the way down the river. Maybe your boat sits lower in the water and has more drag...i have no clue then

I'm skeptical of that... but price.dan has never seemed to be the bullshˇtting type to me. So i'll take his word for it. Video would be sick.
