This is the first skate that i have ridden for a whole summer with griptape. Is griptape on everyone else's boards that rough?

Ouch! I ride the byerly too and i've gotten more grip burn this summer. problem is it takes forever to go away. It's all worth it tho, i love that board.

JeffKnox, what are you regripping it with to prevent grip burn? the only thing i can think of is some kind of foam or rubber.

i think ppl should start skateboarding either before or during wakeskating so they know what real pain feels like. At least with grip tape you dont have to pick rocks out of your shin or hand daily.
