alright, im here to get everyones opinion on rail material, answer as many questions as you can/like.
for each of the materials i would like to know what are the ups and downs including cost, weight, slidability, easy to work with(ness), and ect.
aluminum coil (i like this because i can snag some from work)
seadek
metal tubes(like homemade skatrail type)
skate rails
pvc
pressure treated wood
normal wood
and any other materials you people might use(yes, you people)

yeah, seadek is sort of a softgrip type of thingy. people have used it to regrip their boards! i wouldn't wanna put that on top of a rail...
so go with trex or pvc. our ramps are all coated with PE-HD plates which is by the way the best sollution for ramps - long lasting and slicker than a masiortherrrfurrckererrrr!
the cheapest way to build a rail would be to use the pressure treatet wood. our rails and ramps are made out of it too and they are totally rad! - check: cable-island for pictures...

save some money and just use wood. It will still slide fine.

amosb72, google pe-hd! it's polyethylene of high density. it's not that easy to find a place that carries that. we got ours straight from the factory. might be a chance to get some 2nd choice or leftover stuff though...

uhhh, guess you don't wanna get the textured one. the surface should be as smooth as possible!
we got it in a thickness of 10mm. we had a strong construction of wood beneath so it was sturdy enough. make sure though that it really is pe-HD, otherwise the ramps will be to sticky (at least when dry) and they'll scratch up more easily.

bmr712,
No blueprints but here's a dead-on material list of what was used. You should definately make one.
11- 3x5x8' fence posts
4 sheets- 4x8 plywood
4 sheets- 3/8 azek or whatever you want to use
12- 2x6x8' pressure treated
6- 2x4x8' pressure treated
24- 2x4 joist hangers
