it depends what you want man and how much your willing to spend. There are wood boards, and composite boards. They both ride slightly different. Oaks are good quality wood skates. You could also check out sattelyte, gator, or anything else really. Theres endless amounts of skates to choose from. 41 should be a good size for you though. Its not too small or too big so its good when your first learning. Have fun man!

wincherfromunder, Different people are going to tell you different things. Don't just take the first idea someone gives, look around a little. What price range are you looking for? What style of riding appeals to you most? If you think you'll want to do a lot of w2w, get a bigger board. But if you want to get into more technical stuff get a smaller, maybe lighter one. But definitely take a look at what's out there before just going out and buying whatever you're told Wink

Where do you live? Get some friends into it and get a little wake scene started where you are at.

wincherfromunder, petaluma isnt too far from berryessa, you should come ride with some of us sometime. ive been through petaluma a few times, there are a few unexplored winch spots in the area from what i could tell. im sure there are quite a few guys around here that would be down to hit a winch spot up that way...

lake sonoma was cool too, but i rode in the "NO SKI" area and found out how many freakin dead trees are in there. it was scary for sure.

also if you want to buy a board quickly, i believe there is an ulimate watersports in rhonert park or something.

well there aren't any good winching spots here except from time to time a field gets flooded during the winter and there might be just enough water to winch there.

and also there's a ski marina and hammer here in petaluma next to the new
in-n-out burger. but there pretty pricy. Sad
