Another question for the pulldozer and any other winch out there. When pulling line out, does the winch free spool? Does anyone know if any of the other winches have the ability to free spool while pulling line out?

no the pull dozer does not free spool ... most homemade winches dont free spool either... Pimp Winch just made their disengaging spool design and just started selling them .... im sure they could post a pic of it ... im buying one for my new winch next weekend... i heard it works great but ill let you know when i try it

I didn't think it did but just wanted to make sure. Pulling out upwards of 600' of line without a free spool has got to be a pain in the a$$.

Any pics of PimpWinch's disengaging spool would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the market for a winch and a free spool would be on the top of my list of features to have.

I was attempting to run a 6.5HP w/ TAV 12T x 68T and it wouldn't come close to pulling me up. Technique - I was coming up with the board completely flat creating the least resistance I could and - NOTHING... but my boy Russell was getting pulled perfectly and he's about 165. He killed the Big Jagged Gap on the cover of In It's Travels.
