Slapdown, the son of God, who is God, but became human to come to earth and live with us and become sin, to take the penalty for sin, which was death. but after he was put to death (by crucifixtion) he desended into hell, defeated death so that he could rise from the dead 3 days later, so that those of us who believe in him may live eternally in heaven, with him and God the father.
and he IS "the way the truth and the life, no one gets to the father accept thru him"
in a nut shell. that was really his purpose... but i you can gather from that who he was. |

Slapdown, hahaha o my god... but in all fairness there are plenty of atheist nuts as well... it dosnt matter what religion or lack there of you follow there will always be great people and really really ignorant people... unfortunately
Ian, i remeber i was suppose to respond to something but i cant remember what it was  ... and dont feel like reading all the old posts...
but i am back and willing to share my hopefully intelligent beliefs and love to hear yours... so start it back up

How? I can always compare other views to mine, obviously I'm not going to change mine, but I still like to compare.

che blanc, if you believe in christ as your personal lord and savior, believing that you are a sinner and cannot get to God on your own, but only thru the saving grace of christ's death on the cross for the atonement of your sins.
then yes, you have been adopted into the family of God, as a son of God.
but remember, Christ IS God ("holy trinity", father, son, holy spirit. 3 in 1) |

it will do more harm than good. he may not believe what we know as the truth, but we have been called to love, to be christ's hand and feet, and Jesus would only love, not accept the sin, but love regardless of sin. |

deltarider, how does me being drunk in the past affect my ability to think or debate at all? if that is the case than we must throw out all of Ians posts (sorry to throw you under the bus sort of speak) because he drinks probably just as much as i do...

i never asked you to completely change your views... but to never alter your view on a world that is constantly changing seems alittle naive... and the only way to alter your views of the world is not only to compare your beliefs with others but also to accept them to have at least some truth.... when you take some truths out of all the religions and theorys and doctrines you are faced with a well balanced view of the world... but that isnt enough... you cant stop there cause the next day gives you more info and more facts about the world... so again you must take everything you can into account and make another well informed decision of what you believe... sometimes that makes you lean toward a specific religion but usually it gives you a hybrid of all religions... non are better than the others... all have some truth to them
when you think you have the "Ultimate" truth you cant accept the many others views of the world

since your underage... it's a sin.
and the bible specifically says don't get drunk (on wine) but wine is all they had in that day, it's said in reference to alcohol in general.

wow, thanks brah.
i DO drink, but i TRY not to get drunk, besides, i'm not perfect. i'll be the first to admit that i am the chief of sinners, worse than many of you have ever been. but the fact is that i am saved by grace, not by what i do, and because of my love for christ i TRY to live my life in accordance with his word... but i fall short everyday. and many days i'll wake up and live life as though i don't believe the gospel, and everyday i must be reminded of the truth of the gospel, and how God's love for me is so strong that he won't just let me die in my sin. and then i can fall back on his strength and come out victorious!!! |
