You should use either a CC or a tav 2 for torque and start up purposes, and for speed and torque issues you need to use the gear ratio and the spool size,
lot guys are using 12:60 or 12:72 for at gear ratio,
and a most spools are 7-8" dia, that should give you a good starting point.
Let me know if you need any more info.
I use a 12:72 gives you a little more grunt to help get up and a bit lower top speed!!

Cheers
Paul

For more power theres a few things you can do.

First off you can take out the throttle Limiting screw and adjust the Governor.
I know you can put another exhast on it and after that I'm not sure.

I havn't done any of that and I've only run my winch three times so my engine probobly isn't even broken in yet. I'm also 185lb and once warmed up my winch pulls great.

I took the air filter off mine. Made a high flow exhaust and jacked with the govener. Mine runs great.

JB_CANSKATE, Wheres the throttle limiting screw?

Lol I've got one on mine but I don't know if most other engines do. I love that exhast, how much difference does it make on your engine?

JB_CANSKATE, Couldnt really tell ya Its been on there since day one. But with any engine the faster you can move air in and out the better performance you'll get. You could do it to yours im sure. Take that heat shield off the muffler first. Then just cut the pipe below the stock muffler find what you want to use for a exhuast pipe. I used a bed rail that goes on a truck then weld it to the pipe you have left over from the stock muffler. Nice engine btw
