Take some brightness out of the mountains and it will look better. Even then it doesn't make much sense. Maybe if you chopped the mountains into the background of the lake picture then you could be stoked that the snow and lake are so close together.

hey how do you take a pic and make it black and white except for like 1 item in the pic so that item stands out? ive been lookin all thru my photoshop program and dont see anything on there but i see many people posting pics like that... can anyone help me out?

The way I would do it (read: There is probably an easier way) is to duplicate the original to another layer. Desaturate Layer 1 to black and white, and then extract the image you want to keep its color from Layer 2. Make sure Layer 2 is on top of Layer 1 and you should have a colored part on top of a black and white background.
