wakeskating.com introduced me to my favorite riding bro who generously sold me his coveted a. reed from 2004. and a few other wake bros have sold/given me various special decks as well (or are going to--you know who you are Wink ).

anyway, people can totally trash the concept of a web forum as much as they want. What's crazy is that it's just a group of people who have a common interest, and I think the best gift it can give is allowing you to meet new people. In florida it might be super easy to meet other riders, but it's just not that way everywhere else. So if you're open to it, this sort of thing can be pretty cool and surprisingly rewarding. And I personally am very thankful for that aspect because I've had a lot of fun with some great people, just from getting bronzed and riding in july, to freezing my face off at the end of october, trying to get my last miracle trick for 06. Thanks a lot, bros...

For sure. This site showed me a sport that wasn't all about who could afford what boat or abunch of kids learning certain tricks in a certain order to impress chicks or get sponsored.

In wakeskating you are given a shred stick(basically the bare minimum when you compare it to the other on-water sports) and told to use it however you want to the fullest extent. So much is made possible because you are not being limited by bindings....this site just glorifies it and has introduced me too some pretty influential people in not just wakeskating but life haha.
