Yeah, I understand they both come into play, b/c knowing how to land a 3 or 5 on a wakeboard will help you tryin it on a wakeskate. I'm just sayin that for skate tricks, such as shuv it and kickflips, who does or would u consider practicin them on a sk8board - thats all.

i can do shovits n kickflips, never landed em on a skateboard though, n i cant do a 3 or a 5 on a wakeskate but i can on a wakeboard, i think it has a lot to do with understanding how the water works with a board aposed 2 how a skateboard works on land, all three are very similar but yet very different, i think that some1 thats killin it on a skateboard and a wakeboard is going to pick a wakeskate up and just go kill everyone

true...but the physics of the 3 r all different and on a wakeskate - as you have to keep the board up wind to spin a 180 or 3...but your example of killin it on a skateboard and wakeskate would be Danny Hampson Smile

I've been skateboarding for years, and I can kickflip consistently and everything, but I just got into wakeskating a few weekends ago. I was just wondering, should the skateboarding give me an advantage or something?

It prob will, but kickflips are something that I think everyone is trying to figure out. The only known way to do them on a wakeskate like a skateboard is Hampson style.

first off if u wakeboard u understand how to load the line and jump the wake. i have only wakeboarded a lil but have skateboarded like my whole life and i can do shuvits and lip tricks and go w2w sometimes. but also ur weight distrbution is a lil diffrent on a skate casuse u can put ur foot on the very back ulike a wakeboard, and u always have ur foot on the back when skateboarding. Undersatnding the mechanics of a skateboard and a wakeboard could help u (a lot) and i think that is why cassette is perferd by most bc if u loook at the pole u see that most of us skateboard and are looking for that feel of a skateboard.
the end

when you skateboard it helps you to get the feel of the tricks so when you go on the water you can get that shuvit around or whatever.
