Has anyone here used pine trees for posts?
I have some on my property and was wanting to use them, they are about
6 inches wide, and was wondeing what somebody thought?

that is actually a good idea. cheaper than 4x4x8's, and prolly won't split as bad as treated wood. just cut the ends to a point and hammer e'm in. if you f e'm up, just kill another tree.j/k Wink

my friend did that on his rail and it made it kinda crooked but there real sturdy so go for it Crazy Eyes

I have built a lot of bike ramps and stuff for my bike with pine trees.

Coming from NC, pine tree capitol of the world: Try to use ice to freeze the sap then pop it off. Works better if the sap is still in a glob. Or try using Zippo fluid or WD-40.
