hey I am just wondering what brand of snowskates are good, what deck to get etc. I found this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Premiere-Snow-Skate_W0QQitemZ7178274072QQcategoryZ21250QQtcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem but I don't know if it's good or not so any help is appreciated!

Yes, Premiere skates are very nice. If you want a flexible one, go for this. Premier also makes laminated wood ones if you want a stiff deck. I'd stay away from the bi-level kind though... they really suck

it's a fun deck if you want a flexible one, as I just noted above.

The wood decks are totally stiff, no flex whatsoever. Depending on what you are looking for, you may not want something so stiff.

If you can get this thing for dirt cheap go for it. But if you are bidding over $20, don't bother

May sound dumb, but what pro/con's of flexible vs. stiff. I am from NC, we might get snow 1/year if even that. Our whole town shuts down if they even predict snow, so I want a new toy to play with when it does happen. I have been thinking that a snowskate is exactly what I am looking for, but I don't know the first thing about them.

I have a JP mini plastic one. It rules, but my friend who is like 6'5 220 lbs just can't use the plastic decks, they flex like crazy and look SCARY on boarslides (board is bent right over the rail, very precarious - snap and his nuts are done for)

I'm a light piece of shizzle, so it works great for me. Since it IS FLEXIBLE, i find I get better pop than on my buddys wood premier (Nate Bozung pro model). When i put pressure on the tail and release, it seems to pop automatically on mine.

I'd say if your a big guy get a wood deck

i have an old jp (red and black bottom). Its fun to do little rails and stuff with, but has very little pop. Rails pretty much have to be ride-on or very low. Ive been thinking about getting a premier wood or that burton approach.

i've snowskated for a few years and i like the flex in the premier plastics on rails because u can sort of lock in on the rail. Last year my girlfriend got me a bi-leve(Burton junkyard) and i dont think i've ridden a single since. With the bi-level you can turn, carve and stop like a snowboard. IMO the bi-levels and the closest feeling boards to wakeskates .If you plan on using it in resorts for sure get the bi-level. If you plan on making a little jib in your backyard the bi-levels catch on rails and a cheep plastic is the way to go.

Jb

I heard premier had alot of delaming wood decks last year

I thinking about getting this one, it's not too expensive and I only weigh 155 so it shouldn't flex too much

this a good deal or not?

Exactly my thoughts! Very Happy bi level is the way to go for real riding down the mountain! and its feeling is close to wakeskating

I ride snowskate since 2002 on my local VOLCANO Etna, in Sicily, here we don't have so sweet conditions for snowboarding during the winter, lack of snow, rocks, etc.. so in order to use more and more the short snow months that we have here in the centre of the mediterranean sea, I started to use snowsk8.
So I can tell you for sure that JB CANSKATE isn't wrong when it says that real snowskates are bi level decks, because are the only boards you can ride all mountain around, such as a snowboard and is the closest thing to a wakeskates.
At least if you don't want to ride whit your skate trying tricks all around the mountain, you can buy a plastic skate and close yourself in a snowpark, trying everyday the same tricks.
Take real skates no plastic bulljive

I'm in NC too, the mountains here are pretty small so it's way more fun to ride a snowskate. I prefer the bi-level(I have a Burton Junkyard). I like it because you can just take runs and session the whole mountain instead of skating a 20 foot straight line with one of the flat decks. Not every mountain is cool with them though. Make sure you have your leash. Ski Beech and Appalachian have been friendlier than Sugar Mountain.

I went to Colorado last March and met a guy with a BURTON JUNKYARD. He let me try it and it RIPPED! It was my first time snowskating and I really liked it. Also big ups to Ski Beech and Sugar Mountain. I visited NC for a day two spring breaks ago. Go with Bi-Lev JUNKYARD. You'll fly down the mountain!
