I know, should probably be in the Tech forum, but I don't know if anyone goes there. I need help from soe computer savey people.
I've been having trouble with my broadband connection lately. (I'm on a different comp now.) The computer i normally use just stopped connecting to the internet last week and I can't figure out why.
I checked the connection and all of my routers and those are working fine. The computer says it is connected to the network and running, but whenever i open internet explorer or any other web based program, there is an error message saying that i am not connected. I have windows xp and already tried hitting the repair connection button in the control panel. I also did a system restore and set my computer back a week from the day it started messing up. This computer works fine (it's on the same network as my other one) and i know the line i have to the other computer works because i hooked it up to my ps2 and it ran fine. So if anyone has any ideas on what might be going on, i'd appreciate it if you could help. I've tried everything i could think of (which is all of the basic stuff, so if anyone would know if running in safe mode would help, please direct me through that, i don't really know how that works.)
I don't know if it helps, but shortly before it went out, it would come up with a box saying that i could not access the search site whenever i typed an address in the address bar. After that went on for a few minutes, it died completely.
Thanks in advance |
